Ideasoft Usage Statistics
Ideasoft first appeared in our detection data in October 2016, accelerated sharply in early 2019 (going from 12 to 555 active domains in 11 months), and peaked at 1,897 active storefronts in April 2025. As of our July 2025 snapshot, the active count sits at 1,700. The flattening curve through 2024-2025 overlaps with the GT Global acquisition and a leadership transition that brought in Sinan Akdal as the new CEO, both confirmed by PSM Magazine. We track all of this at TechnologyChecker.io across 50M+ monthly crawled domains.

Which Countries Use Ideasoft the Most?
Which countries use Ideasoft the most? Turkey dominates with 588 of 600 enriched customers (98%), the highest country concentration of any ecommerce platform we track. The remaining 12 storefronts are scattered across Mali, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Iran, Turkmenistan, and Bosnia. Ideasoft is built for Turkish merchants serving Turkish customers, and the data reflects that: Turkish-language UX, KDV billing, and integrations with Trendyol, Hepsiburada, and N11 explain why almost zero adoption leaks outside the country, based on our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io.
Ideasoft Market Share Among Ecommerce Platforms
What is Ideasoft's market share? Globally, Ideasoft holds about 0.04% of the Ecommerce Platforms category and ranks #46 by active storefronts in our crawl of 50M+ domains and 40K+ tracked technologies. The picture sharpens inside Turkey: Ideasoft holds roughly 24% of the Turkish-built platform segment (1,988 of ~8,400 domains across Ikas, Ticimax, Ideasoft, T-Soft, Shopier, and Faprika), making it the #3 native incumbent. The Turkish Competition Board, reviewing the GT Global takeover, framed Ideasoft as a significant player in the narrower ready-made e-commerce infrastructure market for micro, small, and medium businesses.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Ideasoft Customers by Company Size & Age
Is Ideasoft only for small businesses? Yes, by a wide margin. 63.4% of Ideasoft customers have 1-10 employees, another 19.9% sit in 11-50, and the 51-1000+ enterprise band makes up only 16.7%, based on our analysis of 603 enriched companies with size data. That said, several large Turkish enterprises run subdomain storefronts on Ideasoft: Bellona Mobilya, Doğuş Çay, Pilsan, Modalife, and Arbella Makarna are all in the 1,001-5,000 employee band and use Ideasoft for B2B catalogs, e-katalog, or marketplace-style microsites rather than primary ecommerce.

What Industries Use Ideasoft the Most?
Retail leads the industry mix at 21.24%, more than four times the next vertical. Food and Beverage Services (4.91%), Furniture Manufacturing (3.33%), and Food and Beverage Manufacturing (3.33%) round out the top four. Physical goods verticals (retail, furniture, food, textile, fashion) together account for over 40% of the enriched base, consistent with Turkey's manufacturing-heavy SMB economy.
Furniture brands using Ideasoft include Bellona (1,001-5,000 employees, founded 1996), Modalife, İpek Mobilya, and Gümüşsuyu Halı, with the furniture and textile vertical representing roughly 9% of the customer base. Food and beverage companies on Ideasoft like Koska (founded 1907), Doğuş Çay, Fersan, and Arbella Makarna make up another 8% combined across services and manufacturing. Education institutions using Ideasoft like Anabilim Eğitim, Bilfen Yayıncılık, Egebil, and Deha Eğitim use the platform for school stores and book catalogs, based on our enriched company data.
Ideasoft Alternatives & Competitors
Ideasoft's competitive set splits into two layers, based on our market share data across 50M+ crawled domains. Globally, Shopify (46.88%) and WooCommerce (19.21%) dominate the ecommerce platform category. Within Turkey the picture inverts: Ikas (3,663 domains) and Ticimax (2,684) are the two platforms Ideasoft actually competes with on every deal. The Turkish Competition Board's regulatory file on the GT Global acquisition treated open-source platforms (WooCommerce, OpenCart) as a separate market from ready-made SaaS, which lines up with the directional split we see in our migration data across all three native incumbents.

Ideasoft Customer Migration
Based on 699 enriched companies with detection history, Ideasoft is a net-gainer against open-source platforms and a net-loser against managed SaaS. The platform gained 113 from WooCommerce (a 2:1 ratio versus 56 lost) and 73 from OpenCart (a 4.6:1 ratio versus 16 lost), the classic open-source-to-managed migration. The losses are concentrated against Turkish modern SaaS: 73 left for Ikas against only 4 gained (an 18:1 loss ratio, with 39 of those 73 moves happening in the last 12 months alone), and 38 left for Shopify against 7 gained.

Tech Stack of Ideasoft-Powered Websites
Based on 699 enriched Ideasoft companies, the typical stack is analytics-heavy and ads-light. Google Analytics runs on 83%, Global Site Tag on 81%, and GA4 on 74% of stores, near-Shopify levels of measurement coverage. Yandex.Metrika appears on 8.3% (a Turkish regional signal), but Facebook Pixel adoption isn't visible in this dataset and only 2-3% of stores run Criteo or Google AdSense. The picture is Turkish SMBs running thorough analytics but light paid acquisition, consistent with Ideasoft's positioning around organic and marketplace channels (Trendyol, Hepsiburada, N11) rather than performance ads.

Expert Analysis: Ideasoft Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I've spent the last decade analyzing technology adoption across millions of domains, and Ideasoft is one of the more interesting platform stories I've tracked in the Turkish ecommerce market. As of our May 2026 crawl, we detect 1,988 active Ideasoft storefronts and have enriched 700 with LinkedIn company data. The headline isn't the size of the platform, it's the strategic moment: Ideasoft was founded in 2005 by Seyhun R. Özkara, Fatih Çalışkan, and Kerem Kaya, and the company moved to new ownership in 2025 when GT Global Danışmanlık A.Ş., controlled by Sipay founder Turgut Nezih Sipahioğlu, took sole control. The Turkish Competition Board conditionally cleared the deal in July with two years of behavioural commitments on payment-provider access and data sharing, and Sinan Akdal stepped in as CEO. That changes the analysis from "who uses this platform today" to "what does the Sipay bundle do to the customer base over the next 24 months."
1. Growth trajectory
Ideasoft's curve is a classic two-act story. From 2016 to early 2019, we tracked 12 to 50 active storefronts: clearly a low-priority crawl signal during that period rather than the actual customer base. Then between February 2019 (53 active) and December 2019 (555), the platform 10x'd in our detection data, almost certainly reflecting both real growth and improved fingerprinting on our side. From 2020 to April 2025, the platform grew steadily from 580 to 1,897 active domains, a 3.3x expansion over five years, before plateauing through May, June, and July 2025 at 1,878, 1,829, and 1,700 respectively. The flattening overlaps neatly with the Sipay acquisition announcement.
"Ideasoft is a 20-year-old incumbent that just got bought by a fintech. The interesting question isn't whether the platform grows, it's whether the Sipay bundle (POS, payment, ecommerce) creates a new customer profile that the current data doesn't reflect yet." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO at TechnologyChecker
Sales Signal: The active base of 1,988 is the floor, not the ceiling. Sipay's distribution into Turkish SMB POS and merchant acquiring is now an Ideasoft distribution channel, which means the customer count could move significantly in either direction over the next 12-18 months. Watch the August-December 2026 crawls before making long-term assumptions.
2. Customer profile
The Ideasoft customer profile is unambiguous: small Turkish businesses, often older than they look. 63.4% have 1-10 employees, another 19.9% are in 11-50, and only 16.7% are 51+. But here's the wrinkle most analysts miss: the founding-year distribution is split. 39.45% of enriched Ideasoft customers were founded in the 2010s, which fits the SMB story, but 23.27% were founded before 2000, including century-old companies like Koska (1907), Pilsan (1940), Gümüşsuyu (1952), and Tire Süt Kooperatifi (1967). Ideasoft isn't only a tool for digital-native shops, it's also the platform that older Turkish manufacturers and cooperatives picked when they finally went online.
The enterprise representation is real but often departmental. Bellona Mobilya (1,001-5,000 employees, founded 1996) runs its main bellona.com.tr storefront on Ideasoft. Doğuş Çay (1,001-5,000) uses satis.doguscay.com.tr for direct sales. Antalyaspor operates store.antalyaspor.com.tr for merchandise. ACEV and AKUT, two of Turkey's most recognizable nonprofits, run their merchandise stores on the platform. The most visible recent customer signal is the Turkish Football Federation's TFF Eshop, which moved to Ideasoft under a five-year e-commerce infrastructure sponsorship signed at Riva on September 16, 2025. These aren't enterprise primary-commerce deployments in most cases. They're domain-specific storefronts and B2B portals where Ideasoft's Akıllı or Plus packages fit the budget and integration set.
Sales Signal: Two clean segments here. First, founder-led Turkish micro-businesses (63% of the base): high churn risk, high deal velocity, low ACV. Second, mid-to-large Turkish manufacturers running departmental Ideasoft sites alongside their corporate identity: lower velocity, stickier, and the segment most likely to consolidate onto a single platform when forced to choose.
3. Industry and geographic concentration
Turkey accounts for 98% of enriched Ideasoft customers (588 of 600 with a country tag). I haven't tracked an ecommerce platform with this tight a country concentration in our database; Ikas (72.7% Turkey) and Ticimax (similarly skewed) leak a bit more internationally. Ideasoft is a Turkish-domestic platform by design: Turkish-language admin, KDV billing, Logo/Mikro/Nebim/Paraşüt accounting integrations, and Trendyol/Hepsiburada/N11 marketplace connectors. There's no plausible international growth story without rebuilding the product around USD/EUR billing and English-first support, which Sipay would have to decide is worth funding.
Industry mix is dominated by Retail at 21.24%, more than 4x the next vertical. Add Food and Beverage Services (4.91%), Furniture Manufacturing (3.33%), Food and Beverage Manufacturing (3.33%), and Textile (2.69%), and the top five physical-goods verticals account for 35.5% of the enriched base. Education (Anabilim, Bilfen, Egebil) and nonprofits (ACEV, AKUT) form a meaningful secondary segment that explains why subdomain storefronts (shop., store., satis., magaza.) are so common in the data.
Sales Signal: If you sell adjacent SaaS into Turkish retail or manufacturing SMBs (logistics, accounting integrations, marketplace optimization, Turkish-language LiveChat), the 1,988 Ideasoft storefronts are a clean targeting filter. The combined retail and physical-goods vertical of ~700 active companies is the densest cohort to prioritize.
4. Migration patterns
This is where the data tells the clearest story. Ideasoft has two distinct migration corridors, and they point in opposite directions.
Inbound (gains): 113 from WooCommerce, 73 from OpenCart, and 21 from Ticimax. The WooCommerce and OpenCart corridors together (186 gained vs. 72 lost) show Ideasoft winning the classic open-source-to-managed migration: Turkish merchants tired of WordPress maintenance and OpenCart customization moving to a hosted platform. The Ticimax inbound (21 gained vs. 44 lost) is a net loss, but the fact that Ticimax churn flows into Ideasoft at all shows the two are still actively trading customers.
Outbound (losses): 73 to Ikas against only 4 gained (an 18:1 loss ratio), and 38 to Shopify against 7 gained. The Ikas number is the alarm: 39 of those 73 Ikas moves happened in the last 12 months alone. That's the modern SaaS challenger eating the legacy incumbent in real time. Shopify churn (38 lost) skews to merchants outgrowing Turkey-only commerce and needing the global app ecosystem.
"The Ikas corridor is the most important number on this page. 39 of 73 churn events happened in the last 12 months, which means the Ideasoft-to-Ikas migration is accelerating, not decaying. Sipay's biggest post-acquisition decision is whether to defend that base with feature parity or accept the bleed and harvest cash." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO at TechnologyChecker
Sales Signal: Two-sided opportunity. For migration vendors and platform consultancies: Ideasoft churners are pre-qualified for Ikas, Shopify, or open source. For retention plays (uptime monitoring, performance optimization, customer support tools): Ideasoft merchants in the 11-50 employee band are the most at-risk cohort, and proactive outreach against churn signals is the highest-value play.
5. Technology ecosystem
The Ideasoft stack profile is distinctive. Analytics adoption is high: Google Analytics on 83%, Global Site Tag on 81%, GA4 on 74% of stores. That's near-Shopify maturity on measurement. Yandex.Metrika shows up on 8.3% (a Turkish regional habit), and Microsoft Clarity appears on a small 3.9% but is growing.
What's missing is more telling. Paid acquisition tooling barely registers: Criteo at 2%, Google AdSense at 2.6%, LinkedIn Ads at 1%. No Facebook Pixel in the top results either. Compare that to Shopify stores where Facebook Pixel is on roughly 60% of merchants. Ideasoft customers are running analytics, but not performance-marketing pixels, which suggests their growth motion is organic search, marketplace listings (Trendyol, Hepsiburada, N11), and direct/branded traffic rather than paid social.
Live chat adoption is minimal: Tawk.to (3.15%), Zopim (0.86%), Zendesk Embeddables (0.43%). The combined 4.4% suggests most Ideasoft merchants rely on WhatsApp (which Ideasoft bundles natively) or phone for customer service. Payment processing shows Visa on 14.45% and Mastercard on 12.73% as expected, with PayPal at 5.01%, lower than most international platforms because Turkish merchants overwhelmingly use local providers like iyzico, PayTR, and Param that aren't tracked the same way.
Sales Signal: The retention-SaaS gap is real and underpriced. Email marketing, loyalty, post-purchase, live chat with Turkish-language support, and Facebook/Instagram ad tooling are all under-adopted relative to international peers. Vendors targeting Turkish SMBs with TRY pricing and KDV-aware billing have a relatively uncontested channel.
6. Acquisition signals (Sipay + GT Global)
The 2025 transfer of sole control to GT Global Danışmanlık A.Ş. is the most consequential event in Ideasoft's 20-year history, and it should change how sales teams treat the customer base. GT Global is owned by Turgut Nezih Sipahioğlu, who also controls Sipay, the Turkish fintech behind digital wallet, virtual POS, physical POS, and merchant acquiring services. Bundling Ideasoft's ecommerce platform into Sipay's distribution channel creates a payments-plus-commerce stack aimed at Turkish SMBs. The Ödeal yazarkasa subdomain in our data is the early visible sign of that bundle, and the new Garanti BBVA SME package launched with Ideasoft (29,900 TL/year setup, first-year free virtual POS, two-month payment deferral) shows the same playbook running through traditional banking distribution.
The deal didn't go through unconditionally. The Competition Board's reasoned decision required Ideasoft to keep fair access for competing payment institutions, hold existing PSP contracts intact, and prevent trade-secret sharing with Sipay, for two years (extendable to four). That regulatory frame matters for product planning: bundling can accelerate, but Sipay can't force its own rails on the merchant base without inviting another regulatory review.
Earlier in 2025, Sigma Software Group of Sweden exited the stake it held in Ideasoft since 2021, framing the company as a "fast-growing IT consulting" investment. The two transactions, Sigma exit and Sipay entry, together signal the end of the Özkara-founder era and the start of the Sipahioğlu-fintech era.
Sales Signal: Watch the Ideasoft customer list for new merchants that came in via Sipay POS upgrades or Garanti BBVA SME packages rather than direct ecommerce sign-ups. Those customers will have different profiles (more brick-and-mortar, more multi-channel, more payments-first) and need a different SaaS layer than digital-native ecommerce merchants.
Key takeaways
- Turkish-domestic incumbent. 98% Turkey concentration, 1,988 active storefronts, #3 in Turkish-rooted ecommerce platforms behind Ikas and Ticimax.
- Mid-life curve. Peaked at 1,897 in April 2025, plateauing at ~1,700-1,830 through mid-2025, overlapping with the Sipay acquisition.
- Split customer base. 63% micro-businesses, 23% pre-2000 companies (older Turkish manufacturers using subdomain storefronts).
- Open-source-to-managed migration moat. 2:1 gain against WooCommerce, 4.6:1 against OpenCart.
- Ikas is the strategic risk. 18:1 loss ratio and accelerating: 39 of 73 churn events in the last 12 months.
- Analytics-heavy, paid-light stack. 83% Google Analytics, but only 2-3% on Criteo/AdSense and no visible Facebook Pixel.
- Sipay bundle is the wildcard. Fintech-plus-commerce distribution could reshape the customer mix over the next 12-18 months.
Sales applications
Outreach template (for SaaS vendors targeting Turkish SMBs):
"Hi {first_name}, I noticed {company} runs its online catalog on Ideasoft, alongside brands like Bellona and Doğuş Çay. We've worked with {2-3 similar Turkish retail or manufacturing customers} on {specific gap: Turkish-language live chat, Trendyol-Ideasoft inventory sync, KDV-compliant email receipts}. Worth 15 minutes to walk through how it plugs into your existing Ideasoft Akıllı or Plus setup?"
Targeting strategy on TechnologyChecker.io: Filter for active Ideasoft customers with 11-50 or 51-200 employees (about 27% of the base) in Retail, Furniture Manufacturing, or Food and Beverage. This is the cohort big enough to need real SaaS, small enough that the founder still makes buying decisions, and at highest churn risk against Ikas.
Competitive angle: The 73 companies that migrated from Ideasoft to Ikas and the 38 to Shopify are the cleanest buying-intent signal in the Turkish ecommerce market. They've already proven willingness to switch ecommerce platforms, which makes them open to evaluating adjacent tools. Conversely, the 113 companies that switched from WooCommerce to Ideasoft are pre-qualified for managed-services upsells (uptime, security, performance) because they actively chose to stop self-hosting.
